A little bit of history...
My first opportunity to
design a sight came after I'd been learning how to use FrontPage
software and do some light HTML coding and scripting. I'd been
thinking that I'd like to build a sight and it came up in conversation
with a dear friend of mine who was about to begin a family ministry.
He was thinking of starting up a site. So even though he knew that this was
all new to me and my learning curve would be quite large, he still took
a chance on me and
www.bruceministries.org was built. We had a blast watching
God's hands in it all and were constantly amazed at how everything
"fell" together with ease. Dr. Sam and Sandie have an
awesome ministry and are blessing many people as they have me.
Another church member,
friend, and business owner, saw Dr. Sam's website and inquired about it,
mentioning that he was interested in updating the site for his sign
company. Dr. Sam recommended my services and we met to discuss his
needs and desires for the site. Thus,
www.rainbow-signs.com was
born. Bob has been a joy to work with and was a blessing to me
when I really needed one. Just as Dr. Sam did, Bob had faith in
me. Business is booming at Rainbow Signs and Construction
Services, so they don't really have the staff resources to dedicate to such a
big project. There site is still a work in progress. If you
need a sign or banner, Bob's your man!
In the summer of 2004, we
had our 20th year class reunion and I offered to build
www.fhs84.org for
gathering registration forms and other information from classmates.
We posted information about the planned activities, accommodations,
pricing, etc. We had a blast putting old photos from scrapbooks
and yearbooks on the site. After the reunion, we added photos from
the activities and email addresses of classmates for keeping in touch.
Then came
my pride and
joy. I was given the opportunity to update the website at my
church.
Lakeshore
Congregational Methodist Church is really growing it's ministries
and was beginning preparations for building and moving to a new church.
It was the perfect time to update our website and get our congregation
hooked up with information. It's been my own little ministry, and
I've had so much fun creatively and been so blessed spiritually.
If you need a church home...Lakeshore Church is a wonderful family.
In the
fall of 2005 I did a website for a sweet friend and Lakeshore sister, Bonnie. She
had a dream to transform her passion for quilting into more than simply
a hobby, and she turned it into a ministry as well. Her talent
is absolutely amazing. Her creations aren't for idle gazing...but
for enjoying, and her personal touch is stitched into each piece of
fabric. She now has her presence on the internet at
www.bonniesquilts.com and I pray God will bless her as she realizes
the dream He's given her.
With each project, blessings
have been abundant. I am seeing
how God can lead me to the little details that bring life to
each website.
The ideas flow, many times without endless discussion or
consultation. More often than not, my brainstorming ideas have met the needs
for each website. Something that gives me so
much joy has turned into a wonderful way to bring in some extra money while
staying at home to raise my 3 children. I've been patient and, over
time, God has opened many doors. He continues to reveal His
plan and I anticipate each new day with excitement!
